Summer Park Leader

Compensation:

$16.00 per hour

Position Objectives:

This is a seasonal / part-time position responsible for supervising and interacting with children registered as part of the City of Warren Summer Parks Program.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct age appropriate games, activities, arts, crafts and special events daily. 

  2. Monitor and supervise all play and recreational activities on assigned park. 

  3. Survey park area daily to detect damaged equipment and report damages as necessary. 

  4. Conduct activities and keep park facilities, including playground, in an orderly fashion. 

  5. Light cleaning and trash pickup throughout the park area when necessary. 

  6. Keep accurate records on daily attendance, incidents/accidents, damage to facilities, and any disciplinary action taken. 

  7. Plan and implement age appropriate activities weekly throughout the eight (8) week program. 

  8. Greet the public and answers question; respond to inquiries from other employees and general public, referring, when necessary, to appropriate staff. 

  9. Participate in and contribute to any staff meetings, training, and/or orientation sessions during the season. 

  10. Initiate and follow guidelines contained in the Summer Employee Manual. 

  11. Other duties as assigned by Summer Program Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

Park Leaders are required to work at the assigned park site as designated by the Summer Program Supervisor. Normal work hours will be 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with occasional variance due to special program events along with weekly staff meetings.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. 
  • Federal Criminal History Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33) and Criminal Record Check (Act 34).
